Welcome to Pasadena High School - Home of the Bulldogs.  School begins on Monday, August 18th.

World Language
Welcome to Pasadena High School's
World Language department!

The World Language Department at Pasadena High School is staffed by 6 teachers and offers 2 languages: Spanish and French.  There are various levels to suit the abilities of all students. One year of a Foreign Language is required for graduation from high school.  If the student plans on attending a 4 year college or university 3 years of the same foreign language is recommended.

At all levels we emphasize the 4 components of language; reading, writing, speaking and listening. Our aim is communication in the target language.

In the beginning levels, students are taught pronunciation and basic sentence structure. As students progress up through the higher levels, more complex structure is introduced. Vocabulary is studied at all levels. At the higher levels, the students are introduced to and will read  literature from that country. At all levels, culture from the various countries is also taught so our students can learn about the countries where the language is spoken and the people who speak that language.

It is our hope that students will continue in whatever language they choose, for as long as they can, to take full advantage of what our department has to offer.
Classes offered include:

  • French 1/P

  • French 3/P
